I found this interesting website when I was looking for information about our environment. On this website you can write your home town or zip code and it will tell you how much pollutans are in the air on that area. You can also find out the UV index, current conditions of ozone and other things related to the environment.

This is really interesting! I went to it and typed in my zip code (55805) and found that there are a lot of facilities around emitting emissions into the air. Also, our air quality is not as good as I would think it to be for Duluth! Very scary!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool website. For my own zip code (54874)my results were that there were only two air emission sites within my area. I was surprised that there weren't any hazardous waste sites though. this is a good website to be aware of whats in your environment.
ReplyDeleteI compared Duluth's air quality to my small hometown's air quality. The ozone in Duluth was 57%, in comparison with the 0% in my hometown. I live in the country, over an hour away from any major city, so I expected the air quality to be good. I did not, however, think Duluth would be as bad as it was.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting website. I typed in my zip code (55129) and found out that that the ozone layer was 0% for my hometown. I live in a suburb of St. Paul and also about 35 miles from Minneapolis, so I was thinking the air quality was going to be worse than it was!
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting site. I put my zip code in (55912)and wow my town is getting a lot of pollution. I am from SPAM town and you know something is wrong when it smells like dead pigs!! This site showed exactly what was going on!
ReplyDeleteNice find! I looked up my hometown and it mentioned that the air quality there is very good. However, a pollutant to be cautious of is Carbon tetrachloride which accounts for 33.63%.
